We have been a supplier of alternative woods and custom door wood to The Home Depot in over 150 locations in Florida and Georgia for five years. Our woodworkers have attained expertise in all phases of production and all our products conform to the requirements of contractors, architects, Florida Building Code, and other local codes. Exterior doors are available in alternative woods, door interior wood, custom door wood, Genuine Mahogany, Brazilian Golden Oak, White Mahogany and Cedar. Interior doors are also available in these woods, plus some other alternatives such as Bibosi, Ochoo and Cambara. Each piece of lumber is kiln dried and then slowly reacclimated to the environment for months, ensuring the best curing of the wood and maximum structural integrity.All of our alternative woods comes from sustained yield management forests in Bolivia. We are certified FSC, an environmentally certified Smart Wood Source and a member of the Rain Forest Alliance, a "Green" company. After being milled in Bolivia, Distinctive Doors are shipped to our manufacturing facility in Miami where all pre-hung and pre-finished units are produced.We have received the Notice of Acceptance from Dade County Product Approvals (valid until 2007) for wood doors with or without glass, sidelights and transoms for usage with hurricane shutters.
